World Finals Formula 1 in Schools Competition

‘Team Finkas’, with less than 6 months experience, competed alongside 38 other teams from all over the world, some of whom had been preparing for 3-6 years and had raised over $90,000 in sponsorships to support research and development.
The Finkas Team, led by Andrea Ventura, worked incredibly hard to design and manufacture a beautiful racing car, as well as preparing verbal presentations, displays and portfolios to impress the judges.
Overall, Team Finkas came in 28th, an incredible achievement for a new team, and were awarded with the “Best Newcomers" trophy by the Sauber Formula 1 Racing Team. The team was also given the opportunity to meet their racing driver and team at their pit stop in the paddock of Circuit of the Americas race track, the day before the Grand Prix.
We would like to thank everyone at Markham College and in the Markham Community who supported Team Finkas and made this opportunity possible! A huge well done to the team: Andrea Ventura, Renzo Lock, Araceli Velaochaga, Paula Herrera and Eva Espinoza.
